Giới thiệu sách
Hanoi appears to be a natural capital of the Red River Delta and Northern Vietnam. All mountain ranges from the Northern West converge here, as do all rivers which then diverge in the shape of “the center of all tidal waves”. Therefore, this promising land - “good land for birds to nest” - has become the meeting point of many talents and craftsmen from all parts of the country. In Fall of 1010 (Year of Dog), the imperial city was rehabilitated and blossomed with the Dragon and Phoenix citadel, 61 streets which later were merged into 36, 13 farms and many markets at city gates. Intellectuals, merchants and craftsmen gathered here to compete and exchange their intelligence, skills and spirits, which gradually crystallized into the culture, historical objects and talents of the capital. As proclaimed by writer To Hoai, Hoan Kiem Lake - Ke Cho built up the voice of Hanoi, which was created by the combination of hundreds of families and areas to be so different from all other Vietnamese dialects, and the craftsmanship of the land was also attributed by the convergence and crystallization of Hanoi peoples’ delicacy and intelligence. More and more new specialized trade villages came into existence and development surrounding Thang Long - Dong Kinh - Ke Cho such as Bat Trang pottery village, Kieu Ky gold laminating village, paper producing village in Buoi area, Ngoc Ha flower village and Nghi Tam kumquat planting village... All planting and craft villages have been renowned for many years. Throughout its thousand-year history, many occupations and trade villages in Hanoi have been in existence, developed and left unforgettable remarks in Vietnamese people’s mind. Thang Long - Hanoi has showed its diversified appearance, big potentiality and occupational traditions which can not be lost in oblivion as time goes by. Hanoi has big potentiality in terms of tourism in trade villages. Visitors to Hanoi can not only contemplate beautiful sightseeing, historical places and cultural festivals but also enjoy and scrutinize a lively museum of special, various and diversified products made by the handicraft-trade villages which have survived for thousands of years.
